May 2024 Campout

Guadalupe River Tubing Campout May 3rd – 5th, 2024 I. Campout Theme: Tubing on Guadalupe River, Canyon Lake, Texas. II. Departure Time and Place: Meet at church at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, May 3rd, 2024.  Depart at 6:30 p.m. Sharp. III. Camp We will camp at the Corps of Engineers North Park on Canyon Lake. The coordinates are 29.872757774867146, -98.20463204467757, 3210 N Park Rd, Canyon Lake, TX 78133(Campsite 3,4 and 5) IV. Transportation: We will travel by car for this campout. V. Return Time: Our goal is to depart Camp Tahuaya by 8:30 a.m.  We should return to local area around 11:15 a.m..  VI. Food: Scouts should eat before departing on Friday.  Patrols / Scouts should prepare a quick hot breakfast, trail lunch which can be prepared prior to heading to the tubing, cooked dinner, and getaway breakfast.  There will be a place to have lunch at the tubing location as well coolers can be left in the vehicles. VII. Miscellaneous Notes: TRAVEL TIME NEAREST HOSPITAL North Park Camp and tubing:  Central Texas Medical Center ER, 1301 Wonder World Dr, San Marcos, TX 7866611 NOTES ON TRIP One of the best places to go tubing anywhere in the United States is the Guadalupe River in Canyon Lake, Texas.  Float trips include some of the best whitewater rapids on the Guadalupe, known as Devil’s Playground Rapids, as well as Bad Rock Rapids. Or take the long trip through the chutes. There is also great fishing if you want to do that as well.
