Winter Camp Campout
I. Jan 16-19th 2026, Troop 1776

II. Camp Theme :
FUN, Food, Merit badges, fellowship, movies, video games. Scouts are encouraged to bring personal electronics for personal entertainment.
Historically, we have seen Scouts bring game consoles, large screen TVs, personal gaming devices…

III. Departure Time and Place:
Meet at church at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, Jan 16th, 2026. Depart at 6:30 p.m. Sharp.

We will be in the Harbin Group campsite cabins at Arrowhead State Park in Oklahoma.

We will be in the Harbin Group campsite cabins at Arrowhead State Park in Oklahoma.
- Transportation:
We will travel by car for this campout.
IV. Return Time:
We will leave on Monday Jan 19th, from Arrowhead State Park. Our goal is to depart Arrowhead State Park by 11:00 AM. We should return to Otto Middle School around 2:30-3:00 PM
- Food:
Scouts should eat before coming to the church on Friday. All food is included in the campout fee. Adults cook for the Scouts at this campout.
VIII. Personal Equipment List
Necessary Gear:
- Class A uniform (Scout shirt, socks, pants, belt)
- 2 Pair Long Pants
- 1 Long Sleeved Class B Shirt

- Troop Hat (part of uniform and required for Troop picture)

- Sleeping bag (lightweight–heated cabins) and pillow

VI. Cost:
The cost of Winter Camp this year will be $70. If anyone needs financial aid please talk to Mr. Bartell or Mr. Killebrew.

Highs in the low 70s and lows in the 30s, historically colder heavy frost, heavy freeze or snowing. Be prepared

All Scouts should be aware many MBs have updated requirements. Please review merit badge, select desired merit badge, download and print from Links:

Troop Library will be available. The Troop Library has many MB books. Scouts should read the merit badge book before camp and prepare all prerequisites determined by the counselor. Contact the counselor if you are not sure which requirements to do. All Scouts should also print out the merit badge worksheet from meritbadge.org.
Scouts should not register for a class if they have previously worked on the merit badge. Partial MBs or remaining requirements not completed previously can be discussed with counselors at winter camp during non-class hours. Scouts should check their individual history reports if they are not sure which merit badges that have previously started.
If you already have partially completed merit badges, get the requirements completed, fill out the worksheets ahead of Winter Camp and meet with the counselor at camp to complete the badge.
Adults we need your help! We need help with Medical, Kitchen duties and other cleaning chores. We encourage all attendants to not leave early on Sat or Sunday we need to help each other.

NOTES ON TRIP
Troop 1776 has a proud tradition of offering high quality merit badge classes and counseling at its annual Winter Camp. This year we will offer 16 merit badges. We will have four merit badge sessions with four merit badge options during each session over Saturday and Sunday. Scouts sleep in cabins and adults do the cooking. Scouts may bring video games/TVs for this campout as well as cards/boardgames for their free time
