Feb. 2025 Campout

Fire Building, Camp gadget, Philmont Prep Campout I.          Campout Theme:             Fire Building, Camp gadget and Philmont Prep campout II.        Departure Time and Place: We will meet at the church at 6:00 pm and plan to depart at 6:30. The drive will be about 1.5 hrs. to James Ray. III.      Camp We will camp the entire weekend at Camp James Ray. The address for the camp is 2026 Mill Creek Rd, Pottsboro, TX 75076 . We will be staying at the Siouz Campsite. IV.       Transportation:  We will travel by car to this campout. V.        Return Time:  Our goal is to depart Camp James Ray by 8:30 A.M. We should return to the Otto Middle School area around 10:00 a.m. VI.      Food:  Patrols / Scouts will be Meal Planning for the entire weekend. This is a great weekend to get all your cooking and meal planning done for your rank advancements. X.        Schedule: Friday, February 14th, 2025 Saturday, February 15th, 2025 Sunday, February 16th, 2025 XI.      Miscellaneous Notes:  TRAVEL TIME NEAREST HOSPITAL NOTES ON TRIP The scouts will be working on fire prep/building and pioneering during this campout. They will also be working on setting up cooking stations/three pot and the basics of using the equipment. Philmont crews: Please come with your pack loaded for the weekend with the right weight that you will be carrying at Philmont. I will pick up the food. If you have a jetboil type stove bring it as it will be needed. We will also be working on setting up camp and throwing a be FOOD: We will be doing a meal planning meeting, and the patrols will be cooking the entire weekend. I expect the scouts to all fully participate in this endeavor and not leave it up to one person. GEAR CARRYING: The normal camp gear will be needed, a tent, day pack, water bottles.
